Another Day Another Griffith Park Adventure…
Jun.28, 2010
On June 8th I took yet another hike within my current natural, geographical, obsession.
On this particular day I accidentally happened upon the ruins of the old L.A. Zoo.
Amusingly I came upon it from behind, seeing the abandoned shack, then the cages from the back first so I had no idea what it actually was.
It was puzzling and mysterious because it was smack-dab in the middle of the woods.
The curiosity & magic of childhood discovery washed over me in dizzying bliss.
As I wandered further I found the original asphalt path then the front where most people begin the journey.
If you’re as big a fan of “Anchorman” as I am you’ll recognize some of the photos as locations from the “San Diego Zoo” Scene.
The trains are from “Travel Town,” which is a Transportation Museum within Griffith Park.
